Golf Cart Use in Island Lake South

As part of a five-year pilot program initiated by the Alberta government, the Summer Village of Island Lake South has enacted Bylaw 129-25, permitting the use of golf carts on public roads within the village.​

Key Guidelines for Golf Cart Operation:
  • Permitted Areas: Golf carts are allowed on all public roads within Island Lake South.​
  • Operator Requirements: Operators must be at least 14 years old.​
  • Seating Capacity: The number of passengers must not exceed the number of seats in the golf cart.​
  • Safety Measures: All passengers should remain seated while the cart is in motion.​
  • Compliance: Operators must adhere to all applicable traffic laws and regulations.​
Obtaining a Golf Cart Permit:

To legally operate a golf cart on public roads in Island Lake South, residents must obtain a permit by submitting the required application and applicable fees.​
